THE SPIRIT OF DECEPTION

THE SPIRIT OF DECEPTION from THE DAILY WORD
 The Prophet:  Stephen Benton

The demonic spirit of deception is rampant among men posing as Christian leaders.

As you know, there are not many voices out there with even an inkling of an idea of what's going on in the (Holy) Spirit world.  Preachers, the ones assigned as the watchers over the souls of God's people are truly the blind leading blind congregations and both leader and follower are unaware of their blind condition.  That's what Jesus said about the Church of Laodicea,

"…and thou knowest not…that thou art blind…"

I have rehearsed with you again and again the answer Jesus gave the apostles when they asked him three major questions about the events of the last days.  Their questions were:

1.  When shall these things be? (Referring to the destruction of the                   Temple.)
2. What shall be the sign of thy coming?
3.  And of the end of the world?

Jesus answered all three questions with one answer:  "LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU."  God has shown us that this current period until the rapture of the Church will be marked with unprecedented deception and ministers would lead the parade.  Jesus elaborated on the specifics but his initial answer was a caution against being deceived.

God has been telling us about the sudden shift that will take place amongst the ministry.  There will be massive defections from the truth of the gospel and that the condition would prevail that Paul addressed in Galatians.  Some would come preaching another Christ and another gospel.  Because most ministers in most churches start the message by taking a text from the Bible, the average member sitting in the average church actually believes that their minister is preaching the truth merely because the message begins in the Bible.

There are some simple yet great truths to be gleaned from the account of
the temptation of Jesus by Satan.  The first thing Satan offered Jesus was personal gratification. At the top of the offerings of those not called by God the Father is an appeal toward personal gratification and fulfilling the lusts of the flesh.  Jesus was hungry and Satan came with a message to meet the current need of the Savior. Satan's message to Jesus was the precursor to the current blessing and prosperity message.  It is a message designed to appeal to the needs and wants of the flesh.  The message does nothing to aid the spiritual man.  The blessing and prosperity message will fill Dodger Stadium but the truth is seeking true worshippers who will worship God in spirit and in truth.  This is the day Paul wrote about when he said people: saints would turn their ears away from the Truth.  He said that the time would come when they would not endure sound doctrine.  Because there is a surplus of uncalled ministers: hirelings, those seeking their own personal message that appeals most to their flesh, people have a never ending supply of teachers to choose from.  People who don't attend church prop themselves up in front of the television on Sunday and pick out their favorite teachers and preachers and listen to them.  The ones they don't like, who usually aren't on television anyway, are passed up with the touch of a button on the remote.

God woke us up with the realization that this is Satan's world.  As such he controls every aspect of it including who preaches the gospel over his airwaves.  You can be sure that Satan will not tolerate any minister on this planet who is preaching a message that contradicts the philosophies and ideologies of the god of this world.

When the "meet your needs" message didn't work with Jesus, Satan took his next message from the scriptures and has been doing so ever since that time.  So when a minister stands up in the pulpit and takes a text from the Bible that is not the criteria by which one should judge the godliness of the preacher.  Believers, beware of anyone not preaching Godly separation. What a mouthful of truth in that statement!

When were led through the book of 1John we learned that some would depart from the group.  That was the way they would be identified as anti-Christ's.  John said that they were once with them but went out from them and continued not with them.  The picture is one of defection.  We are seeing a lot of that these days.  There are preachers whom I have listened to for many years who are no longer preaching the same truth they once preached.  In an article written by Ron Riffe, he referred to the "deep mole" of military intelligence. Listen to what he said:

"…they will seem so good for so long, that no one suspects they may be actually working for the enemy.  But, at a critical time, they will step forward to begin for the enemy, and are so effective because co-workers and their bosses trust them so completely."

We are in that critical time now.  That short period at the end of the Church Age and the beginning of the final week of Daniel's 70 weeks.  It is marked by massive defections from the faith, which really aren't defections at all, only the emergence of the "mole."

Elder Riffe hit the nail on the head where he wrote about the message of felling good about yourself and the need to check out the message of the messenger.  It was nice to hear somebody other than myself admonishing people to check them out.

Elijah complained that he was the only one left upholding the truth of God's word and God's priorities.  God let him now that he had 7000 just like Elijah.  I have often felt alone in proclaiming the truth of God's word but I take consolation in the fact that there is another voice at the other end of this nation that is on the same track of truth.  Again, I request that you pray for that ministry because like any purveyor of Truth, it is under constant satanic attack.

IT'S TIME! (FOR ANTICHRIST)by Pastor Stephen Benton

IT'S TIME!
from The Prophet

It's time to wake up to the fact that we are about to embark upon some of the darkest days known to the church in its entire history.

(Back in August of 2000, when this was written, there was a global religious conference in New York of all the world's religious leaders.  It officially marked the beginning of the "peace and safety" proclamation foretold in 1 Thessalonians.)  There was also a Global Business Conference and a Global Political Conference where President Clinton and Fidel Castro exchanged an historic handshake.

[Ironically, this was held on 9-10-2000, one year and one day before the "attack" on New York's World Trade Towers.]

This religious conference was designed exclusively to determine the fate of the Jerusalem and to bring about the New World Order. ( the implementation of which the Lord has seen fit to hold back these 13 years.)

More specifically, it is designed to bring into motion the necessary components to usher in the Antichrist.

Now once again it is time for us to focus on the prophecy written to the Thessalonians by the Apostle Paul where he admonished them not to be "soon shaken in mind or troubled as if the Day of Christ is at hand."
(II Thess. 2:2)

Just what is meant by the "Day of Christ?"  It means that the world is about to be deceived on a level unprecedented in its entire history.  Jesus gave a warning against deception as The Sign of the last days.

"Take heed that no man deceive you."  (Mt.24:4)

It's time!

I'm not about hype and scare tactics but you had better take heed to what I am saying. Something dramatic has to kick in for the world to throw its allegiance to one man. (and it's not Barak Obama, he does not fit the description outlined in Scripture) That dramatic something is the staging of a false Tribulation.

You should know that the real Tribulation period as set forth in the scriptures will bring about death and devastation unparalleled in the history of the world.  Will Satan actually unleash a planned death and destruction on a major scale in order to bring about his purpose?  He's done it before.

Twice he has ordered the execution of boy babies to thwart the plans of God.  Once was in Egypt in hopes of slaughtering the promised deliverer prophesied to come forth in the fourth generation—that deliverer was Moses.  The second time he slaughtered human life was at the time of the birth of the Messiah.  Both of those murders were preventatives. To what ends will he go in order to advance his own plans?  There is no limit.  All you have to do is look at the history of this world in events such as the crusades, Hitler's holocaust; ethnic cleansing; genocide; the AIDS epidemic, a man-made disease, biological warfare and a whole host of other unreported travesties will tell you what kind of monster we are dealing with.

Will Satan destroy cities and take out life numbering in the hundreds of millions in order to keep his planned course of bringing the world under the Son of Perdition?  You bet he will and he is about to do so soon.

One of the topics that came up in that religious conference is the world's religion's intolerance of the intolerance of the Christian Faith.  We are enemy number one on that hate list.  That should come as no surprise. Jesus warned us not to be surprised if the world hates us.  he shouldn't have had to do that.  We who are followers of the lord should have expected to be the target of the hate of this world.  Why then did Jesus have to remind us?

The answer is both simple and frightening.  This is the Laodicean Church.  More specifically, it is the last days of the Laodicean Church.  This is the Church that is "neither hot nor cold" and the one that Jesus said he would spue (vomit is a better word) out of his mouth.  This church makes Jesus sick to his stomach.  it isn't so much the sin of this church; that has been present in every age dating back to the "church" in the wilderness.  What this church does have in common with the congregation pastured by Moses is its abject unbelief of God's word.  This Church is filled with Christians who met Jesus but never stuck around long enough to know his word.  It is a Church fraught with unbelief.

Israel didn't miss Canaan because of any specific sin: it missed out because of unbelief.

(This is a prophet for the Last Days who has been called and sent by God to reveal previously "hidden" truths from God's Word to the Church about the deception to come and the Rapture.  Why is there so much unbelief?)

THE APOSTATE CHURCH

AN APOSTATE CHURCH
from The Prophet

Let's review some of the things we have looked at over the past few years:  A lie is coming down the pipe and God is going to allow it.  In fact, he is going to assist in bringing it about.  That truth is taken from II Thessalonians, chapter two.  Let's look at that passage.

"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."

In the first letter to the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2, Jesus has an indictment against that church.

"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou has left thy first love.

Now over the years I have heard this passage interpreted as them "losing" their love for Christ.  That is an erroneous interpretation. If you look in verse three you will see that the church had not lost its love for Christ.  But, (contrary to what most believe,) Christ was not their first love.  Those who met Christ and fell in love with him actually fell in love with his words.  The gospels confirm this fact again and again.  The crowds never heard any man speak the words Jesus spoke. What the Ephesian Church left was their love for the Word of God.  They lost their ear to hear. Now if that happened as early as the first Church Age, how impaired do you think the hearing is in this last Laodicean Church Age?  It's no wonder that all of the letters written to the seven churches close with the admonition:  "He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."  That is the most repeated verse in the bible, appearing seventeen times.

Unfortunately, the churches have not heeded this advice, particularly this last church, the Laodicean Church.  The love for the truth was once again extended to this last church but we're told in II Thessalonians that they did not receive it.

I have said many times that if you were to take a survey as to why people attend the church they attend, the reason that would seldom top the list is because of the word of God.  Oh, they may like the preacher but not necessarily because he or she preaches the word.  Usually a church is chosen because of its programs, the choir, auxiliaries, and the list goes on and on. Jesus was quite direct and very much on target addressing the audience in his day when he asked the question, "What went ye out to see?"
Why that question?   Because that is why most people go to church—to see, and not to hear.

Let us continue with the text in Thessalonians:

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."

Here again, a correction must be made to the text. The original uses a definite article, "the lie."  A particular lie is about to be unleashed on the world that will cause the collapse of the nominal adherents to the visible Christian Church to take place in one day.  That event is often referred to as the Great Falling Away.  It's a theological term, not a biblical expression. The scriptures simply refer to that event as a falling away but you can believe that it will be great.  It will signal the official beginning of the Apostate church.  It is already in existence and is filled with those who have lost their ear to hear what the Spirit has to say.  When Jesus is found knocking at the door of his church in Revelation 3:20 he makes the statement, "if any man will hear MY voice."  That's the problem.  Too many saints in too many churches are listening to the voice of their pastor, deacon, church mother and so forth and not listening to the voice of the One who owns the Church.  What Paul wrote in II Corinthians 11:4 has become a reality in many churches and they are not even aware that a change has taken place. What did Paul say?

"For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."

One aspect of "another gospel" in these last days is the gospel of blessing and prosperity. The Laodicean Church claimed to be blessed or rich.  A common password among Christians these days is "blessed." Far too few who make that proclamation have reference to the word of God for the blessed state.  As long as Jesus is multiplying the fishes and loaves he will have a crowd of 5,000 return the next day.  When he addressed that same crowd with the word of God, they left.  He then turned to his disciples and asked if they were leaving also.  Blessing and Prosperity are not God's program today.  To the same church in Revelation he said that those whom he loved he would rebuke and chasten.  The saint who is the recipient of those actions is often looked upon as being out of the will of God.

"Thou sayest I am rich and in need of nothing."  If the message of Jesus Christ was a message designed to make believers become rich on the earth, he should have commended the Laodicean Church instead of condemning it. Rather, he called it "poor, miserable, wretched, blind and naked."  Prefacing those adjectives he made the comment, "and thou knowest not."  The Church is oblivious to its deplorable state.

TODAY'S CHURCH IS DEAF..IT CANNOT HEAR GOD'S VOICE! by Pastor Stephen Benton

A SPIRITUALLY DEAF CHURCH
from The Prophet

This congregation was told by the Holy Ghost that He would have more to tell us in this final church age than he has spoken since the beginning of the church age in AD 31.  Now that's saying a lot!  And true to his word, the Holy Ghost has done just that. This is the end of the Church Age.  It is the time of the culmination and realization of the great promises that have been made to the Church.

The book of Revelation depicts seven churches which, although real congregations at the time John wrote to them, actually represent seven distinct periods of the history of the Church from its birth on Pentecost Day until it is taken up to heaven in the very near future.  We are now in the Laodicean Period, the final stage of the Church and the picture of the Church at this point in its history is bleak.  Jesus described this last church as wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. That list may not be in the exact order but it is the exact description.

Its most serious defect is that it is deaf.  It has lost its ear to hear what the Spirit has to say and yet it is oblivious to its deaf condition. Jesus is shown standing at the door of this church. Many times that passage in Revelation is misinterpreted as Jesus standing at the door of the heart of the sinner pleading for admission. Wrong!  The letter is addressed to his Church.  He is standing at the door of His Church.  He is not knocking for admission but knocking for the attention of the two or three in each congregation who have an ear to hear, to leave that congregation.

Jesus is not asking to be let in because he doesn't want to be admitted back into what was once His Church.  This present Laodicean Church has made him sick to His stomach and he has vowed to spew (vomit) it out of his mouth.  The church is so deaf that it does not hear Jesus knocking at its door.  It thinks he is still in the building.  Well, Elvis isn't the only one who has left the building!  Where did Jesus go?  I can tell you this: it's probably somewhere you would least expect to find him.  Does he have a crowd?  He never did.

Think about that for a minute. Jesus' ministry was thronged with crowds.  He fed 5,000 people on one occasion and 4,000 on another.  Paul said he was seen by over 500 brethren at once after his resurrection.  I believe they were present at the time of his ascension into heaven.  The point I am making is that with all of the people whose lives were touched by Jesus, only about 120 stuck around to wait for the promise of the Spirit.  That's a very small number.  It's no accident that the word of God promises that where two or three are gathered together in his name, he would be in the midst of them because in many cases, he has only about two or three in the typical church who are in tune with his voice.

I constantly monitor those who claim to be his messengers as they minister on television and radio and I can tell you with confidence that they are preaching another gospel and another Jesus, neither of which was preached by the Apostles.

The proclamation of another Jesus is an essential piece of the puzzle in order for The Lie and The Strong Delusion to be effective when they come forth.  Christianity has been turning out a membership that is unable to defend its faith.  If asked how they know that Jesus lives, the typical answer would echo Christianity's Easter theme songs, "you ask me how I know he lives…he lives within my heart."   Bull!  The Apostles never preached that doctrine.  When the Lie is released it will knock the faith of the typical Christian right out the box and hence, the Great Falling Away.

The Holy Ghost has been preparing us for that period of time.  The Church is about to undergo the greatest fight of affliction it has seen since the days when Saul "wreaked havoc" on the Church.  It will be comparably short in its duration but it will be very intense.  For those who have been spiritually deaf, happily going along the road to heaven, it will be a time of selling out because their faith platform is built on rotten timber.

THE TRUE PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNION SERVICE

THE TRUE MEANING OF COMMUNION
from The Prophet

In our communion service God took us to St. John, chapter six.  In that chapter Jesus challenged and offended his hearers by telling them that unless they ate his flesh and drank his blood, they had no life in then.  That's a huge statement.
Now let us examine this great revelation from the Lord:

"Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead."

Note the wording!  Jesus did not say that they ate manna and died, but "they are dead."  Now notice the contrast further in the following verse:

"This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die."

In the communion service I noted with you that a person may partake of the bread and wine and still die and go to hell.  Communion is a ceremony, better known as a sacrament.  Like any ceremony, it cannot save the one who partakes of it.  Further, to partake of it without fully understanding its full significance is a vain exercise.

Now, let us probe the text further.

"Then Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

There can be no doubt that THE LIFE of the believer is partaking of the body and blood of Jesus.  Now, again, let's see exactly what the flesh and blood is:

"It is the Spirit that quickeneth…"

Let me interrupt right here.  That word "quickeneth" should trigger another similar word in your brain: "quick."  That word belongs to another passage where it says that the word of God is "quick."  The word does not mean fast, but alive.  In the verse above Jesus says, "The spirit quickeneth."  But quickeneth what?  Two things, actually: It quickens the word itself and also the individual who continually hears the word.  That leads us to the passage that has become the golden text for this assembly:

"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples, indeed."

Now for some commentary!  Jesus is saying that the life force surging through his very being was not the blood and blood cells that feed the tissues of the flesh; it was the word of God, itself!  For the believer, the same is true.  Our very life force is no longer residing in our blood veins, it is God's word!  That is why Jesus said of those in the wilderness that they ate manna but are dead; but he that eateth of the blood and flesh of Jesus shall never die.  Such individuals are as eternal as the word itself!

Now let's consider another great, familiar passage.

Did you catch it?  He said "every word." How many times has the Holy Ghost resurrected the words Jesus spoke to his disciples, "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."  After his resurrection when he upbraided his disciples calling them fools and slow of heart to believe "all" that the prophets have spoken concerning him.  Selective hearing is deadly.  Selective attendance is deadlier.  In the coming conflict, it is essential that we hear and give heed to every single word of every single message that proceeds out of the mouth of God through his prophet.

Hitting and missing messages makes one so spiritually weak that all you can do when you finally make it to church is just sit in your seat and keep your mouth shut.  You come in on Sunday after missing weekly bible class as if nothing has changed.  Let me tell you, you're barely able to walk up the steps.

Now, let's go back to the scripture fragment on the previous page.

"It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing;" (no wonder Paul said bodily exercise profiteth little,)

"The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.  But there are some of you that believe not."

Now that we know that the word of God answers to the flesh and blood, Jesus ends that dialog with the above statement.  What are the implications?

That those who either miss the word or don't believe ALL of the word are those who will deny him at the end.
