WHO CONTROLS YOUR MIND? by S. Benton

WHO CONTROLS "YOUR" MIND?

As I listened to an older teaching tape from 2002 from our prophet, Stephen Benton, the Lord began to speak to me from his teaching on a subject that took me to deeper depths into the Word that was being taught.  This is what He showed me:
God is at the final point of completing his work with this select remnant of His Church.  In Psalm 138 he says:

" The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands."

We are in the hands of the Potter.  Why?   because we put ourselves there.  When we became born again we transferred ourselves from the power of the god of this world into God's hands and died to 'self' so that when God looks at us He no longer sees us but the covering of the blood of Jesus who has become our mercy seat.  Romans 9:21 says:

" Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?"

When you become born again you are brought from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light and you give God complete power over you.  You are put onto the potter's wheel and He begins to mold you and form you into his image. We are currently at the end of the Laodicean Church age and the Holy Ghost is now beginning the polishing process which comes at the end.  But what the Holy Ghost has shown me is that there is one part that on which we are still holding out.  It may be the reason that Jesus has delayed his coming for His Church.  What do you think it is?   You have not given the Lord total control of your mind.  You think you have but you have not.  Our Pastor always told us that, "all God wants is a willing mind and He can work with that."
2nd Corinthians 8:12 tells us this:

"For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not."

In Romans chapter 7 Paul talks about the problem we have with our flesh obeying the law of the spirit.  In Romans 7: verses 24 and 25 he says:
"O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this    death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  So then with the mind, I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

That scripture will be fulfilled in you when you bring your mind under to the law of God.  Not the old testament law, but the law that works in your members.
" But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members." Ro. 7:23

Romans 12: 2 tells us,

" And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

If we had no part in the process, why would Paul  have written this scripture in that manner?  Because we must allow our mind to be transformed in order that it might be renewed.  And how is our mind renewed? As we have been taught by our prophet over and over again ... by the hearing of the Word!  So that as we continue hearing God's word, our mind is changed, right?  Yes, as long as we allow it to be changed, or renewed to God's will and not ours.  But so many times as we pray, we say, Lord, thy will be done.  But the reality is that we want God's will to be done as long as it coincides with our thinking on how it should be done.

My example:  When my husband, our prophet,  was dying of cancer, as I was praying for him he told me to pray that God's will be done.  I said, "I did," and he said to me, "You did not."  I protested and said, "but I have prayed that before," He said, "No, you have not."  He told me, "You have to pray that even when you don't want it."  I was willing to have God do His will if it didn't involve taking him home.  My will was to keep him here, therefore, I refused to accept God's will because it appeared as if he was going to allow him to die.  I acted like I was willing to accept God's will, I said I was...but in my mind and my heart I was not.  My covetousness, (my way, me, what I want, which is idolatry, by the way.)  {Col. 3:5 }was keeping God from having complete control over my mind.  I thought that God should allow it because this was my husband but it wasn't allowed by God nor was it acceptable to Him.  God, in his mercy, gave me the grace to finally get to the point of accepting His will and when my husband finally pled with me to let him go because he could no longer take the pain, I said, "I will," and the next morning the Lord took him.  My point is this: the Holy Ghost has shown me that the vast majority of believers have that same stubborn, covetous streak about something in your mind and in your heart.  We are told in Jeremiah 1:9:

" The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
Our hearts lie to us and cause us to hold things in our mind for our own self indulgence.  We gave ourselves to Christ but we want to hold on to something that is our own...our mind.  All of you have thoughts that you would never share or tell to anyone, not your spouse, your brother, sister, best friend or even God, when you pray.  But Ephesians 4:17&18 tells us:

"This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:"

and in verses 19 through 23 Paul goes on to tell us:

"Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;"

My husband told me in no uncertain terms that God will not use a carnal minded saint.  In order to be used at the end we must allow the Holy Ghost to change our carnal (or worldly, earthbound)  deceitful heart and put in a heart of flesh that He can control...and then let Him have it!  Ezekiel says in chapter 11, verse 19:

" And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:" (meaning a heart that He can mold and shape)
(He says it again in chapter 36:26.)

God has shown us that he can handle our heart:

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 1 John 3:20

What was Israel's first commandment in Deuteronomy 6:5 and the last commandment that our prophet told us we need to attain to?

  Matthew 22:37; Mark 12:33; Luke 10:27

" Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

God wants all of us saints: heart, soul, and mind or else you are not fully His and he cannot use you.

We are told in 2 Corinthians 4:4

" In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers but he can't blind yours unless you allow it.  He is currently making a last ditch effort with us to invade our minds and turn us away from what we have believed. He knows us so well that he knows exactly what to dangle in our minds to seduce, tantalize and turn us away from God's truth.  He and his demons are on the job 24/7.  If only we were!!

If Satan has blinded the minds of those who believe not, then he is able to blind    the minds of believers who hold back their minds from God's control.  He can step into any opening that you leave for him, and he does.  He is The expert at promoting the will.  Remember his first sin in the 'dateless past'?
"For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."

My will  is our last port of entry into unbelief.   Stiff necks and hard hearts against parts of God's word can leave an open window for Satan to step in and blind a portion of your mind until your will overrides your spirit and causes the "old man" to step back and withhold just enough of your mind so that the "new man" is overcome.  Do not allow that to happen.
If 2000 disembodied spirits entered into one man back in 30 AD, How many more have been dispatched for each believer to deceive and seduce us in this last day from the truth that we know?  Contrary to what is being touted these days on You Tube videos about 5G, they cannot read our minds!  But they can make you think they can...if you have not had your mind "washed" in the Word.

We have been admonished again and again to saturate, and immerse ourselves in the Word;  read, listen to CDs, watch the videos.  Get off the world's channels and focus on Jesus.  Why?  So you can become weird  like our prophet was?  But you think that was okay for him because he was a prophet.  Well, who are you?  You are his students tasked with finishing his work!  This is our practice before we  have to "play."  If we do this, I promise, all you will feel when "they" from Satan's kingdom come down and make full disclosure, is a lump of fear in your throat.  Once you swallow it and call on the Lord, it will vanish and you'll "tread on serpents and scorpions" with no problem because your Almighty Father who has complete control over you will take you over...completely!
I suggest you use a friend's prayer, "Lord, you have to take this from me," every time the thoughts, (whatever they may be, and they can be anything) that keep you from going deeper into the Lord's power come into your minds.

I just recently had the experience and I can testify that it works.  I had thoughts that were strange coming into my head, occupying my mind and I was fighting them.  It is a fight and you have to be determined to win it.  Once you make up your mind to let the Lord have them, the Holy Ghost will take those thoughts from you and you won't know when He did it.  Suddenly they are gone and your mind is clear again and you've been taken to a deeper level in Jesus!

(Let me digress for a moment and ask you young people this: Why do you think as God's last days' believers it's alright to sacrifice God's word to listen to music by performers who are worshipers of Lucifer?  He is your Savior's enemy who is steadfastly working on turning you from Jesus to him?  Why do you think it's alright to follow Satan's worldly practices in regard to clothing, jewelry, piercings, hairstyles, tattoos, t-shirts that you won't wear to church,  TV shows that glorify drunkenness, getting high, drugs, sex, lewd language; watch video games that glorify demons with naked bodies, zombies and all kinds of perversions?   When do you think it will be time to change that or do you think you're strong enough in the word to fight its influence over your mind and your way of thinking?  I've had 37 years of nonstop brainwashing in the word and I still have my struggles.  You may be able to hide some things from your parents but don't you realize that the Holy Ghost sees your heart and knows all your thoughts...all the time? Does God control you or does your own mind and your own desires?  Just asking something to think about. (with your renewed mind.)

This is our final and hardest battle Saints!  You have to dig your heels in and tell the adversary that he will not beat you because he's already been defeated by Jesus, and you cannot be deceived!!  But if we want to do exploits, and soon, we have to face this unseen enemy that is "warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."  before the ones we can see come down. (Romans 7:23)

In Philippians 3: 10-15 Paul writes this:
"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."

Well, He has revealed it to us, let us make haste to "...gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
In Ephesians 6: 11 Paul gives instruction to put on the "whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

Notice that the last piece of the body of armor  he names in verse 17 is , "the helmet of salvation..."

When snowboarders are gearing up before they plummet down that mountain, or scuba divers before they sink into the murky depths of the ocean; or astronauts before they blast into the weightlessness of space, what is the last piece of equipment they attach to their bodies before they shove off, or take the plunge or launch into space? Their Headgear!

What is the Holy Ghost showing us today?  What goes into our helmet?  Our heads....which contain what?  Our mind!  Together with "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,"  We are being prepped for the end run.  "Look up Saints, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh!"
Luke 21:28
