HOW TO FORGIVE and FORGET

I just have one short addendum to the messages that we have been getting on forgiving (and forgetting.)  I was reminded (again) by a member, of a message that we received about a year ago about the Lord sending the scapegoat away with the burden of sins on him to a place where he could never again be seen.  God, Himself has to send our transgressions to a “sea of forgetfulness” so that He will never again remember them or hold us accountable for them.  In that same way, when we are willing to let go, we can ask God to take away that memory from us and that is how we are able to forget.

It is almost impossible to do it on your own. But, as pastor is always telling us, we must first have a willing mind.  You may find that you can’t forget and then blame God because you are still miserable.  If that is the case, then you have not yet bent your will to let the situation go and God cannot take that memory as long as you are unwilling, not unable, to send it away, like the scapegoat. That applies to wrongs that we won’t forgive as well as our sin that we want to keep.
“For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”
Judged of what?  Of not loving Him with a love comparable to His forgiveness.

INTERVIEW WITH GOD

  Interview with God

I dreamed I had an interview with God.  God asked,

“So you would like to interview me?”   “If you have the time,” I said.

God smiled.   “My time is eternity…what questions do you have in mind for me?

“What surprises you most about humankind?”

God answered… “That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.”

“That they lose their health to make money…and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present,   such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”

“That they live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived.”

God’s hand took mine, and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked,  “As a parent, what are some of life’s

lessons you want your children to learn?”

“To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”

“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”

“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”

“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most,

but is one who needs the least.”   “To learn that there are people who love them dearly,  but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings.”

“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”    “To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”

“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly,  “is there anything else you’d like your children to know?”

God smiled and said… “Just know that I am here.”  “Always.”

GOOD ADVICE! by Pastor Stephen Benton

Good Advice”   Pastor Stephen Benton

The scriptures report that Solomon spoke over 3,000 proverbs.  Every so often I like reading the book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon, just for the rich nuggets on the issues of life, itself.  With all of Solomon’s wisdom, he himself says that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”  That puts things in their proper perspective.  My mother used to entertain us sometimes by singing a song called, Good Advice.  It was usually followed by a song called, Route 66, usually followed by another song having something to do with Marconi being a phony.”  (I don’t know where all that came from.)  Although I don’t recall all the words of the song called Good Advice, I do remember the overall message of the song as it gave its views on good and bad advice.

Because the bible contains so much information on wisdom and knowledge; doing and not doing, you might ask yourself what issue actually leads the list of wisdom and knowledge, right and wrong.  That’s easy!  In the Book of Psalms, which is written in an ascending order from 1 to 150. Naturally then, Psalms #1 is first on the list of things to know and do, or not do, what ever the case may be.

The first verse says, “blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.”  That’s good advice, no that’s great advice. There is nothing at all that the ungodly can offer that will equal or exceed the word of God.  One of Satan’s chief deceptions is “slipping” advice to the children of God.  We are further aided in good advice with the words of Jesus in John 8:31 “ If ye continue in God’s word, then are you my disciples, indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”  In the last few messages when the Holy Ghost referred to that verse that the expression, “about everything.”  That means that whatever we face in our daily life, the truth spoken by the Holy Spirit exceeds anything the world can offer.  I received some information from a wordly, so-called saint and was excited to get it.  Three months later, after the expenditure of much work, time and money, I had to scrap every piece of that “good advice.”

The scriptures say, “in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.”  Sometimes because of the repetition of certain acts, we think we automatically know the best way to go about performing. I urge you today, not to lean to your own understanding, nor walk in the counsel or the advice of the ungodly.  Seek the Lord first!

STRINGING THE MESSAGES TOGETHER

STRINGING ALL THE MESSAGES TOGETHER...'from THE HOUSE OF GOOD NEWS DAILY WORD..

In the message God gave us on wed April 6, 2011, God stated His desire for us:
That is fruit.

Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear. Matt.13:12. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. The word hath is interpreted in Matt. 13:9 who hath ears to hear let him hear.  God said His word is most effective in our ears if we hear it first. Our prophet’s job is to make sure we understand the Word.  If we hear Gods word and understand we will bear fruit. We will do what God has called us to in spite of ourselves.  What is fruit?

March 27th of this year God took us to Luke 6:27 "But I say unto you which hear, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you. 28: Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you " etc. God also took us through the beginning of Ephesians with chapter 4 showing Gods direct commandment towards us.
Verse 23 says, "and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."  Ephesians 5:1 "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor. But fornication and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints." Verse 5, "for this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."

The natural response to the quoted scriptures above for a non hearer or selective hearer is: this is a hard saying who can hear it or who can do it? Those who have His Spirit will perform His will. Jesus said: "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."  It’s
impossible to hear God’s word, know it came from God and not recognize that we being men, fall short. We were given a message a while back where the Lord said to present ourselves.  We, through the death of Jesus Christ have been given the right to come to Him boldly.  God said just present yourself to me and I will make you holy.  Every time God’s Word goes forth and we hear it, is the opportunity to let His word find us.  When it hits us say, it’s me oh Lord and allow Him to do what He will to change us.

"Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."  When we allow His word to find and change us we’ve just expressed the easiest form of faith there is.  Faith is meant for things regarding God, particularly His Word. God’s grace is given for the sole purpose of learning how to allow God’s word to have its complete work over us.

Unfortunately, Satan has deceived most of us into believing God’s grace was given to excuse what we as sinners “can’t help,” hence the response to our sin is “God knows my heart,” “I’m only human,” or “He made me this way” this comes from a doctrine currently being preached and it is not okay with God.
God will not tell us to do something that He has not already given us the power to do. An example God gave was when He called Moses in the Mount to deliver Israel from bondage in Egypt. Moses' complaint or excuse to God was that he was slow of speech.  God knew this already when he called Moses yet He sent Aaron anyway because of Moses’ lack of faith or unbelief.  All scripture is written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the age have come. We then should look at God’s call to Moses as an example of our walk with the Lord. When we are first encountered by God there is a response that we cannot do what He has called us to.  When God sent Aaron to meet Moses in the mount Aaron became a help or a crutch for Moses to feel better or gain confidence in the job of speaking to Israel about their delivery on behalf of God.  Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have been given the Holy Ghost as a ‘help’ to lead and encourage growth in us that we may eventually get an understanding of how to hear God’s word and walk according to it. Moses grew from being dependent upon Aaron to make up for his shortcomings with God, to speaking on behalf of God himself during the showdown with Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.  This is one of many examples that Moses went through. But the point is we will all grow to the state of staggering not, as the Lord said regarding Abraham.

We should reach a level of not being concerned with what we can’t do but what God will do with us if we trust only Him to do it.  Faith requires action. The river Jordan at flood stage would not have moved if the priests didn’t put their feet in first. When you trust God you automatically take on the mindset of what He has said or promised as being accomplished and act accordingly.  It’s time we put on the whole armor of God; be concerned with His agenda and do it; and stop making excuses for ourselves and our behavior. Maybe then we can push the odds of how many of us will remain true to our testimony.

"BECAUSE THOU HAST LEFT THY FIRST LOVE..."

“Then he(Jesus)  says, the whole thing is focused on keeping his Word, that’s what makes the relationship.  No word, and you  leave “your first love”  ( Rev 2:4) …of the word,  then the relationship breaks down and you’re set up for “another Jesus.”   “Those who love me, will keep my word and they cannot be deceived!” ..not by “another Jesus, another gospel, or another spirit.” (see Galatians 1:8)
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them…”  John 16:4

“We haven’t seen the worst of it yet, but we’re going to live to see the defection of the so-called Church and it’s going to make you a little nervous.   You’re gonna wonder am I in the truth? Can that many people be wrong?  Can that many people have not heard his voice?  It’s going to be a little frightening. And  he’s telling you in advance so you’ll know what you are working with and whom you are working with and what the environment of the Church is gonna be.  He said, “I’m gonna spit it out!” Why?  They haven’t heard my voice...period!  How about the ones who have?  That’s the great truth here, is that he doesn’t dump the whole thing because of those who are flawed, this time he dumps the flawed and keeps the good.  Those who’s got his good seed, he’s gonna keep you and everything else will go—Good News!  That’s why he said in Habakkuk (2:3), “though it tarry, wait for it, he that shall come will come….”  He’s coming for something, There’s gotta be a Church here when he comes.  “Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it…”  although it’s gonna seem to in the years coming up.  So I tell you these things in advance so you’ll believe.   As the day gets more deteriorated you’ll know you’re in the truth and be confirmed in what you believe. “

"Another Jesus, Another Gospel..."

Anybody preaching “another Jesus or another gospel” (Gal.1:9)  He (Paul) lets us know with this statement that the gospel of blessing and prosperity would overshadow the message of Jesus when he said, “let a man deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”  (Matt.16:24)

My prayer for the Church this year is for the Church to realize that God’s issues are SPIRITUAL.  He provides houses for you to live in; I believe that God provides automobiles when we need them.   But he refers to these things as simply…”things.”  He says “seek  ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these “things” that we sometimes become preoccupied with and worried about, he said, I’ll just throw them in.“
